These terms describe how myvoteforward.org works and what it offers. They are written in plain language and are not a statement about which laws apply to you.

myvoteforward.org is educational, not an election service

The site explains a framework for understanding public priorities, opinions and private voting. It does not conduct official votes, register voters, certify anything, or give legal advice. Nothing on the site is an official ballot, an official result or an instruction from an election authority. For deadlines, eligibility and how to vote where you live, rely on your official election office.

Accuracy and corrections

Chapters cite their sources and show a version and a last-reviewed date. Laws and procedures change and differ by jurisdiction, so a source can become out of date. If you find an error, please report it. Corrections that change meaning are listed in the changelog.

Source policy

  • Material claims cite a source at the place where the claim is made.
  • Primary legal and election sources are preferred for procedures; peer-reviewed or original research is preferred for empirical claims.
  • Citing a source does not mean its author endorses My Vote Forward. Guidance from standards bodies is cited as guidance, never as approval of this framework.
  • Quotations are kept short and attributed. Quoted material belongs to its owners.
  • Hypothetical examples are labeled as hypothetical.

The complete list is on the Sources page.
