My Vote Forward is an educational framework for ongoing civic participation that connects shared priorities, optional public expression, and secure private voting. Its organizing language is: My priorities. My opinion. My vote.
This site explains the framework, the research behind it, and its limits. A separate demonstration shows one possible way the ideas could work, using simulated data.
What My Vote Forward is not
- Not an election authority. These websites do not register voters, issue ballots, or run elections.
- No official votes. Nothing cast on this site or the demo is an official vote, and nothing is counted in any election.
- The demo uses simulated data. Community priorities, schedules, and sample ballots on demo.myvoteforward.com are simulated and labeled as such.
- No donations or memberships. My Vote Forward does not ask for or accept either.
- Not a data business. No data is sold. There is no paid influence, pay-to-rank, candidate sponsorship, or campaign targeting.
- Nonpartisan. The framework does not endorse candidates or parties and does not rate them.
A .org domain is not evidence of nonprofit or charitable status, and none is claimed here.
Publisher and owner
Publisher: My Vote Forward.
Owner: Mike Millett owns the initiative.
Development status
The framework is a research and teaching program under active development. The educational chapters are being written and reviewed in increments; each chapter shows its version and last review date. The demo is a demonstration only. Real, authorized private voting is part of the framework's long-term ambition, but it would require legal authority, independent evaluation, and approvals that do not exist. No such approval is claimed. Current detail is on the Status page.
Defined terms
- Framework: the ideas and requirements explained on this site. See The framework.
- Demo: the demonstration at demo.myvoteforward.com, which uses simulated data.
- Publisher: the party responsible for what is published on this site.
Evidence
Every material factual claim on this site is cited where it appears, to a source checked by the writer on the review date. The full bibliography is on Sources.
Competing interpretations
Some readers will see an initiative with a long-term ambition for private voting as an election project in disguise. The site's answer is to state the present scope exactly, above, and to keep the requirements for any future official use on public record in the trust chapters.
Application to this framework
The limits on this page apply everywhere on the site and the demo. If any page appears to contradict them, this page and Status govern, and the contradiction is an error to be corrected.
Unresolved questions
- How a future operational system would be governed and funded is unresolved. See Governance and Hard questions.
